It's only hair!
Yeah, that's what I tell all of my friends that have gotten a bad haircut or their child got a bad haircut. "It's only hair! It'll grow back!" It's easy to say that when it's someone else! It's harder to accept when it is you or one of your children!
I should start from the beginning.....
Jack has had the "buster brown" cut for the past 2 years! What is the buster brown cut, you might ask? Well, if you are from the South, you know what I am talking about. If you are not, you place it in the same category as the "Dorothy Hamill Do"! Yes, it is true. I actually had someone call it that once! I thought about clawing her eyes out, but decided that wouldn't be a good example for my children. ;)
Jack has had the same haircut for the last 2 years, so it has become his signature look. It just seems to fit his personality! Here is Jack sporting the "Buster Brown"!

We have always been in the minority with this particular cut here in Tulsa, OK! They are a dime-a-dozen in Mobile, but NOWHERE to be found here in the mid-west. We even had to teach our hairstylist how to cut it! LOL!
Friday was the big day! I finally got up the nerves to change his hair! I had been thinking about it for awhile! I knew I didn't want him to have the "buster brown" forever, so it had to be done! (Or, did it?) Well, we did it! And boy did we do it!!! I love the girl that cut Jack's hair! She goes to our Church and she is super sweet! She even cut my hair the last time I got mine done. On Friday, though, I don't think we were on the same page! I know now I was not specific enough with what I wanted Jack's hair to look like. Or, did I know what I wanted his hair to look like? (Here-in lies the problem!) So, without further ado, here is Jack's new "Do".......

So what did we learn from this experience, you ask? We learned a few things. First of all, you always be VERY specific with what you want and don't want. (Don't leave it open for the other person to figure out. They can't read your mind!) Second, we learned that Jack has WAY too many cowlicks to have hair this short!! WOW! Third, we learned that it will be okay! It's just hair! It will grow back!
So, there you have it! Please keep all negative comments to yourself! After all, it took me 2 days to post this for the Grandparents to see!
The good news is, he shouldn't need another haircut until Spring! So, we'll save some money! Maybe that's what we can call it..."The Dave Ramsey Do"! The haircut that you only have to get every 3 months! Maybe we are on to something! :)
I must laugh, or I will cry!
