Never a Dull Moment!

Both the boys keep us on our toes, that's for sure! Jack is at that age now, though, that we NEVER know what's going to come out of his mouth! He is so funny! I have to note a couple of incidences so I don't forget them when I'm old and gray! I may need to share these with his kids down the road one day when he can't believe the things they are doing!

The other night we got on to Jack for something (can't even remember what it was) and Jack got mad and said, "You and Daddy AND Judd are going to jail!" He said, "The policeman is going to come and pick you up and take you to jail and you are going to stay there 'foreber' and 'eber'!" Ha! So, we ask, "Well, what are you going to do without a Mommy and a Daddy? You sure are going to miss us. And who is going to take care of you?" So he replies, "My Grandparents"! Ha! His Grandparents will get a kick out of that! After thinking it through, he finally decided he would miss playing with Daddy and Judd, so they didn't have to go to jail, but Mommy was still going to jail! A few hours later, he came and sat in my lap and told me I didn't have to go to jail either! Funny, how when he needed some love, attention and was getting sleepy, Mommy came in handy!

The other incident I wanted to remember is from his 4 year old "well child" visit. I took him for his check up this past week. As soon as he found out where we were going (about 5 minutes before we left the house) all he kept saying, was "Don't let them put that stick in my mouth!". Poor thing, the last few times he has been to the doctor, he has had to have a strep test! I assured him (a good 20 times) that they were NOT going to put a stick in his mouth! (If he only knew he was gong to have to get 4 shots, he would prefer the stick! But, I didn't tell him that!) So, when the dreaded time came for the shots, I did my Mom duties of holding my screaming child down (why is it Daddys never have the pleasure of doing this?!). No wonder he wants to put me in jail! Anyway, after having the shots, he looked up at me through tear filled eyes and said, "Mommy, why did you let them do that to me?!". Bless his heart! I had to chuckle at what he said, but at the same time I felt so sorry for him since he couldn't understand it was for his own good! I think his Drop Pop (his favorite sucker) and chocolate donut with sprinkles made it better, though! Ha! The kid knows how to milk it!!

I should add that Jack has a "band-aid phobia". He has ALWAYS hated band-aids! Contrary to his brother, who thinks a band-aid make everything better! I think Jack was more upset over the band-aids than he was the actual shots. He didn't want to go to the bathroom for fear of seeing his band-aids. He also didn't want to walk because of his band-aids. I carried him around all afternoon (all 40 pounds of him!) Ha! Well, as soon as we took those band-aids off that night, he was ALL BETTER and his legs didn't hurt anymore! Crazy kid! He cracks me up! I sure do love him, though!

I could write a book with all of the things my boys say (if only I could remember them all!). But, these were just a couple that stood out in the past week. I am sure I'll have more this time next week! Those wheels are always turning and mouths are always moving! Ha!
