Brotherly Love
Today was a fun but full day! Judd was out of school today for teacher work day and also Monday for Labor Day. I wanted to do something other than the normal house cleaning that I usually do on Fridays. One of the fun things we did was go to the pet store. That is one of the boys' favorite things to do. Today was humane society day, so there were lots of dogs and cats there that we got to love on. All of the animals loved the attention they got from us. Well, most did. Buttercup the cat wasn't as thrilled. When Jack went to pet him, he bit him and drew blood in the process. Darn cat! I am not crazy about cats to begin with, so that really confirmed my disliking of the little creatures. Jack went nuts because he thought he was going to get in trouble or I was going to take him to the doctor to get a shot. He overheard me asking the lady with the animals if they had had their shots and he thought I meant he was going to have to have a shot. Poor thing! I assured him he would be okay and he would not be getting a shot. So, off we went to Target next door to get some Neosporin and bandaides. Well, while we were standing in line to pay for our stuff, I noticed Jack had a nasty looking, dirty, very much USED band-aid on his finger. I panicked and asked him where in the world he got that bandaid. He said Judd gave it to him. I asked Judd where he got it and he said he took it off the bottom of his foot and gave it to Jack. Yep, that's right! Anyone that knows me, knows that that could've very well sent me into cardiac arrest! I am a total, self proclaimed GERM FREAK! I manged to take a deep breathe, though, and decided it was just an act of brotherly love and he would be ok. We cleaned it extra good with the medicine we bought at the store, wrapped it in a clean bandaid and went about our day! I did have a talk with Judd about sharing our used bandaids and how that probably wasn't the best idea. I do appreciate those rare acts of kindness, though! They don't happen too often! :)
