Crabbin' 101

We went Crabbin' at Dauphin Island while we were in Mobile! It was hot, humid and stinky, but we had a great time!

The first thing you need to know about Crabbin', is you need to take someone with lots of crabbin' experience!

Exhibit A. (Pee Paw)





Pee Paw knows how to do it! He has all of the nets, buckets, knives, etc... you need! He even knows how to pick out the stinkiest, nastiest bait for the job (rotten turkey necks, and old beef). I assure you, it smelled as bad as it sounds!

Next, bring some fishing poles so you can have something else to do while you are waiting for the crabs to come!



And if you don't know what you are doing, at least try and look like you do! Ha!

Just kidding! Actually, Mee Maw and Tina were right in on the action with Pee Paw! They were way better at it than I was!

Good thing we weren't trying to catch our dinner, 'cause this is the only one we got! We managed to get a hermit crab and 2 flounder as well, but we let them go as soon as we caught them. We were just in it for the fun!
