Meet Me In St. Louis

We are on Spring Break!  Can I get a "Whoot  Whoot!"?  We are very excited!!  Today, we are in Tulsa enjoying a beautiful, Spring-like day.  The beginning of our Spring Break was no where near "Spring-like", though.

We loaded up the car Friday morning and set out for St. Jefferson, MO.  Where?!?!?!  You read that right, St. Jefferson.  Someone (not naming any names) clicked on the wrong city when trying to set the GPS for St. Louis, MO.  Uh-oh!  So, a 5 1/2 hour trip, became an 8 1/2 hour trip.  That was a very loooooong day!   (It is NEVER a good sign when you see 3 "Welcome to Missouri" signs within an hour.  There's your first clue something ain't right.)

Besides some cold, rain and even a little sleet, the rest of the trip was great!

When we arrived in St. Louis, we checked in our hotel and then headed out for dinner in downtown St. Louis.  Such a cool city!

Can you see the St. Louis Cardinals baseball stadium in the background?

Look at the steam coming from underground!  We thought that was so cool (and New York-like)!  ;)

After dinner, we went back to the hotel and let the boys get out some energy since they had been in the car all day.

On Saturday, we set out for Sky Zone, a HUGE indoor trampoline park!  The boys had a blast!

All of these pictures are blurry because the boys were in constant motion!  LOL!  It was so fun!

Next up, we went back to downtown St. Louis and went to City Museum.  If you visit St. Louis, City Museum is a must!  It was the coolest place ever!  So many things to see, explore and climb through!  Lots of fun for all ages!

You could climb all the way up to the top of this plane.

Being silly.

Going through one of the many tunnels!

A look inside.  The pictures really don't give it justice at all.  It was so nice!

On Sunday, we happened upon a really cool local dive for breakfast.  It was St. Patty's day.  All of the employees at the restaurant were dressed up and they had Irish music playing.  It was such a neat, fun place!

Next stop....The Arch!  This was the coldest day.  We did not come prepared for such cold weather.  The sleet was a surprise too!  The boys went to the top of the arch.  I don't do very well with closed in spaces and when I got a look at the tiny vessel they were going to stuff us in for this ride up to the top and back down, I FREAKED OUT!  No thank you. ma'am!  So, I let the boys do it and I stayed down in the main level and "people watched" instead, which happens to be one of my favorite past times.  ;)

We went to the ice skating rink after the arch, but sadly, the hockey team was practicing, so we couldn't skate.  Oh well.  We were pretty tired anyway.

On Monday morning, we hit the Science Museum before heading back to Tulsa.

After the Science Museum, we headed back home, but stopped off at some caverns on the way.

Look at the water!  That is a river!  Yikes!!  It kept rising more and more while we were there!

I think this last picture pretty well sums up our little trip!  We crammed lots of things in the 3 days we were in St. Louis!

So fun!
