San Francisco - Part 1
We took a vote as a family on where we wanted to go for Spring Break this year, and I was SO EXCITED when one of my "bucket list" cities won the vote!!
I have been wanting to visit San Francisco for quite a while!
We flew to SF during the night so we could be there bright and early and ready to get moving the next morning!
We hit the ground running on the first day with a visit to Alcatraz! We arrived when it was dark, so we didn't get to see much of the city the night before. When we walked outside of our hotel, our jaws dropped! It was amazing! So beautiful!
We rode the ferry to Alcatraz for our tour. It was pretty cold and a little dreary, but still so fun! It was very informative and interesting!
After touring Alcatraz, we walked down the pier and grabbed some lunch. We did a little sight seeing and then got our first (of 3) desserts at Ghirardelli Square! SO GOOD!
A little funny... On the flight to SF Bart said, " I'm going to stay on my diet while on vacation.". I replied, "I'm going to try to, but I may have a few 'cheats' in moderation."
16 hours later....
Haha! Worth EVERY calorie!
We grabbed dinner that evening and then hit the sack to rest up for the next day.
On Day 2 we went on a city tour with Dillon Tours. It. Was. The. Best. So good!
Here are some of out favorite sights we got to see on the tour...
These trees!!!!
This view!!!!
Our tour took us to Muir Woods! It was co cool seeing all of the beautiful redwoods! We wish we could've had a little longer to hike there. It was awesome (but pretty cold)!
We also visited Sausalito on our tour. We ate lunch there. It was so pretty, but very cold. I think that's why I didn't get any pictures there. It was really, really cold. Sausalito is right across the Golden Gate Bridge and I did get some pictures of the bridge!
That wraps up Spring Break in San Francisco, Part 1! Stay tuned for Part 2!
