San Francisco - Part 3

Our last full day in California can be summed up in one word.....AMAZING!!!  Seriously...just breath taking and fun!

The one thing people told us over and over when they heard we were going to San Francisco, was that we needed to rent a convertible one day and drive down the coast on HWY 1 to Monterey Bay and Carmel-By-The-Sea.  We knew the weather would be a little cold for a convertible, and the sun was not a guarantee, but we decided to buy some warm clothes and hats, bundle up, and go for it!  It's not every day you get to do something like this!  YOLO baby!

The boys and I grabbed breakfast while Bart went to pick up our ride for the day.  We weren't sure what he was going to show up with, but it's safe to say we were all excited when he drove up to get us in this.....

We hit HWY 1 to take in the scenery and we were blown away!  I mean...Bart and I grew up at the beach.  Now don't get me wrong, the AL/FL beaches are beautiful!  But there was something so magical about seeing the ocean and the mountains at the same time. I could have spent another 2 days camped out at one of the beaches we visited.  (And by the way, we plan to do that some time!  We LOVED Monetery Bay and Carmel!)

I mean....

Gorgeous!

 Carmel...

Yep, that's our boys testing out the freezing waters!  Ha!

This was the perfect way to end our adventure in California!  It really was so much fun!

And just so you know, it was pretty cold in that car with the top down!

Exhibit A....

Exhibit B...

Ha Ha!  But it was worth every second!  We would do it again in a heartbeat!  Oh, and side note...My husband thinks he NEEDS a sports car now!  😄

On our last night in San Francisco, we knew exactly what we wanted to do one last time.....

It is just THAT good!  Yum Yum!  😋

Here are my boys waiting for our Uber to pick us up for the airport for our flight home the next morning.  Good bye California!  You were amazing and we WILL be back!

A little funny I want to remember.....

There was this notepad on a table by the elevator on our floor at our hotel.  Every time we got on or off the elevator we "made our mark" (see below).  Every time we passed it, someone had removed it.  So, every time we went by we wrote it again!  One time, they had even removed the pen!  Ha Ha!  I bet we were driving them crazy! 😁 It was a fun little game for us!  Roll Tide! #alabamacomestotown

That wraps up our visit to California.  I think it was by far, the very BEST vacation we have been on as a family to date!  After visiting Colorado and California, it has really given me the "travel bug".  I can't wait to explore other areas of our country outside of the south!
