Thanksgiving 2017

We went to Alabama for Thanksgiving!  We were blessed with beautiful Fall weather while we were there and wonderful family time!

We stopped off in Clinton on our way to Mobile to see some of our favorites!  We got to meet "the sisters", Harley and Hallie, and boy are they cute!!

I love this sweet aunt of mine so much!

No matter how big they get, they love to swing at Aunt Donna and Uncle Bill's house!

When we arrived in Mobile, we cleaned up and headed to dinner with family.

After church on Sunday, we went by to see Mee Maw's marker.  It was so strange not having her with us this Thanksgiving.  We miss her so very much!

We celebrated Jack's Birthday at Mimi and Big Daddy's house!  Mimi made him his favorite...chocolate sheet cake!

Mom, Kristie and I squeezed in a little shopping! 

And of course we had to go to Big Time Diner while we were there!

You are never too old for the pet store in Mobile!  It's a special pet store because they let you hold all the animals!

You are also never too old for the park on a beautiful day!

We got to help celebrate Ana Catherine's 21st Birthday while we were there.  All of our girls are growing up!

We went to Jacqueline and Jimmy's house for Thanksgiving.  The food was amazing and the weather was so nice!  We had a great time with everyone!

The next day, we ate brunch at the Cracker Barrel, then headed home.

It was a great Thanksgiving!  We just missed our Mee Maw!  😔

In closing, Bart's Dad had asked me to write a Thanksgiving tribute for Mee Maw.  This is what I wrote.  It pretty much summed up how I felt on Thanksgiving Day...

This Thanksgiving, as we reflect on all we are thankful for, YOU are at the top of our list!  We are so grateful for the time we had with you (a true blessing from above), the memories we carry around with us, and the hope and promise of seeing you again in Heaven one day!

As we gather today and celebrate Thanksgiving for the first time without you, it just won’t be the same.  We miss you so much, but we know you are having the best Thanksgiving of all…a feast fit for a king (THE KING of KINGS) on this Thanksgiving Day!  Save us a seat at the table, because by the grace of God, WE WILL be with you again one day!
